Chicago Immigration Attorney

Attorney Ana Mendez Mencini is an experienced and knowledgeable immigration attorney with a history of strong advocacy in service to her clients. Herself the daughter of a Colombian immigrant, Attorney Anna M. Mencini understands the many challenges immigrants face while dealing with immigration matters. She has the knowledge and experience needed to guide clients through the often difficult immigration process.


A native of New York State, Anna M. Mencini moved to Illinois while in her teens and graduated from Fenton High School in Bensenville. She went on to earn a B.A from Lake Forest College as a Richter Scholar. Later, she received a M.A. from Chicago’s DePaul University. Anna M. Mencini earned her J.D. from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law. An active law student, Anna M. Mencini was the Managing Editor of the Chicago-Kent Law Review, a finalist in the College’s Moot Court Competition, and the recipient of numerous scholarships. She graduated in the top 13% of her class.

Legal Career

Attorney Ana M. Mencini, was a supervising attorney for the Immigration Clinic in the Chicago-Kent Law Offices. She used her education and experience to help immigrants and foreign nationals achieve their immigration goals. Professor Mencini also been the principal attorney of Ana M. Mencini & Associates, PC and the Immigration Law Group located in Itasca, IL.

Attorney Ana M. Mencini is admitted to the bar in Illinois and the U.S. District Court Northern District of Illinois. She is also a member of several legal associations including:

  • DuPage County Bar Association (Chair of Immigration Law Committee July ’10 – June ’11)
  • Chicago Bar Association
  • Illinois State Bar Association
  • American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)


Attorney Ana M. Mencini was a full-time professor at the IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law. There, she educated the next generation in immigration law and directed the clinical education of law students who provided valuable assistance to the Immigration Clinic.

Volunteering and Advocacy

Anna M. Mencini is an active participant in the immigrant community. She is an active volunteer with World Relief DuPage at their naturalization workshops. She is also a participant in the U Visa working group where she helps undocumented crime victims obtain certifications needed to apply for U Visas. In the past, Attorney Anna M. Mencini has volunteered for MIRC where she won asylum for her clients from Colombia who had been persecuted by the FARC. Anna M. Mencini has also volunteered in the presentation of Know Your Rights Seminars and she is a frequent speaker to lawyers’ associations on the topic of immigration law.

Attorney Anna M. Mencini is an active advocate for the immigration community. She is a participant in the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association’s (AILA) National Day of Action and has met with congressmen to advocate for the reform of the immigration laws.
