Results of the Diversity Lottery Posted

The results of the Diversity Lottery that were posted on the Department of State's website have been voided due to a computer problem. The lottery will be rerun without need for applicants to reapply. The Department of State expects that the new results will be posted on their website on or around July 15, 2011. Use your existing confirmation number to check results at that time.

Department of Homeland Security extends Temporary Protected Status

The Department of Homeland Security is extending Temporary Protected Status ("TPS") for an additional eighteen months for Haitians currently residing in the United States. In addition, Haitians who arrived up to one year after the earthquake, many of whom came in on visitor visas and other authorized measures, will be permitted to apply for TPS.

USCIS Announces H-1B Cap for Fiscal Year 2011 Has Been Reached

USCIS announced that the H-1B cap for fiscal year 2011 has been reached. H-1B petitions for fiscal year 2012 (start date of October 1, 2011) will be accepted beginning April 1, 2011.
